Brookville Outdoor and Environmental Education Center

Centrally located in Nassau County, this former NIKE Missile Base provides a remote setting for a variety of Nassau BOCES programs. This outdoor classroom is comprised of 20 acres and provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy our adventure education, homestead ecology, and ecology @ Brookville programs.  

Adventure education brings participants together as they navigate a series of field challenges and our challenge course. Participants learn how to work as a team, develop communication skills, and find confidence.  Our social studies and homestead ecology programs transport students to the colonial era as they learn about the daily lives of colonial children through hand-on exploration.  Ecology @ Brookville is designed to build a connection with the natural world.
